Trans.Cafe – When Crisis Calls

By: James Blake November 28, 2016

It was late one evening, and my wife and I had had a pretty rough day. She had been in physical pain all day, and we hadn’t much money left to last until payday. We were hungry, broke, exhausted and ready for a break. As we were driving, our tire blew, and it was the final straw. Our spare was already flat. We felt hopeless and didn’t know what to do. Perhaps that’s the definition of a crisis...

Sarah Talk – Episode 54: Two Trans One Van

By: Sarah Austin May 17, 2017

This week we put down the newspaper to share the story of a pair of transgender parents who are, in spite of overwhelming life garbage, are doing amazing things for the community.  You’ll fall in love with them.  The end.  We feature James & Katherine Blake, a trans couple and their life journey. James blogs about their journey, a project called “Two Trans One Van” and Katherine works with the Trans Lifeline. We talk in generalities on the show about job loss, disability and homelessness, but here’s a real-life example of an amazing couple facing the odds to provide for their kids, support each other while still finding ways to give back to the community. I absolutely loved talking with them! James & Katherine Blake

Queersplaining: James and Katherine

By: Callie Wright May 17, 2020

Awhile back I did an interview for another podcast I was producing. I made the episode and released it in the other feed, but 1. i don’t know that i did the best job putting together the episode. I was punching above my weight as a producer, and 2. the episode got like 40 downloads because it was on a totally different feed and it was like the 2nd or 3rd episode i did in that series. These folks deserve better!
